As your postpartum doula, I will help your new family during the transitional period of the first year, with evidence based methods and non-judgmental support. Whether you choose to have support begin in the hospital or once you arrive home, we will come up with a plan to meet your specific needs.
Doula duties include: answering any questions or concerns, helping with infant feeding (establishing breastfeeding or bottle preparation), emotional and physical recovery from birth, family & baby bonding, infant soothing and basic newborn care. I will also be available to help with laundry, run errands, prepare meals, and help care for siblings. I will strive to help you with whatever you need during this special time in your life.
As your doula, I will not diagnose medical conditions in the mother or baby/babies, however, I will refer you to the appropriate specialist as needed. I do not take over full care of your baby but will assist and help educate you in caring for your little one’s needs. I have an extensive resource list including everything from baby masseuse to lactation counselors.
